What is an albedo texture?

An albedo texture is the flat color of a surface with the light removed. It holds the hue of wood, paint, or metal, and it leaves out shadows, highlights, and reflections. In a PBR material this map is called base color. Diffuse is the older name, from when a texture also baked in some of the lighting. Artists search these as if they were different maps. They are the color input. Put shine in the roughness map, metalness in the metallic map, and small surface direction in the normal map. A trim sheet shares one albedo across many props, so a door, a pipe, and a wall can use the same color strips. TrimSheetFast generates that albedo first. Depending on your plan it also generates roughness, metallic, normal, and height, which you assign in Unity, Unreal, Blender, or Godot.
